Harry McKee's practice revolves around surety and construction law. He handles defaults, litigation and claims against performance bonds, payment bonds, bid bonds, probate bonds, and other commercial bond forms throughout the country. Harry has substantial experience in bankruptcy, construction and commercial law. Harry has handled the preparation and negotiation of numerous default and termination workouts, principal financing, and real estate and asset transfers.
Harry is an active member of the Defense Research Institute and is currently the Chair of the Fidelity and Surety Committee. He is also active in the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee of the Torts & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and previously served as a Vice Chair of the FSLC. He is also a member of the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys, the Chicago Surety Claims Association and the Fenwick Bar Association.
Harry has co-chaired and spoken about various surety topics at the American Bar Association's Annual Meeting, has spoken and written papers for the Mid-Winter Meeting of the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee, has spoken at and written for the Defense Research Institute's Annual Meeting and the Surety Round Table, and has spoken before the Chicago Surety Claims Association. He was a contributing author of co-authored a chapter of The Law of Probate Bonds and was a contributing author to the Appleman’s on Insurance Law Payment Bond Treatise, and American Bar Association publications The Surety's Indemnity Agreement, Contractor's State License Bonds Desk Reference and The Law of Motor Vehicle Dealer Bonds.
